Polaris sportsman 570 check engine light
Code 1268 3 could use a hand. I have a 2017 570 that the engine will die and this code shows up. Says short or high voltage for code. If I shut off bike it starts right back up but will die after a few minutes. If I look at voltage on cluster it says 12.1 volts without engine running. NOTE: the dipstick must be screwed in and although not specified is checked cold - no problem riding below the full mark, but there is a caution about not operating when over full. That sounds like the throttle safety switch. Check and make sure the throttle cable isn't adjusted too tight. If the contacts close, but the engine rpm doesn't come down far enough, or fast enough, it thinks the throttle is stuck and goes into the safety mode.
